For Pete’s Sake!

Today I had the great honor of pulling clothing and accessories for a fashion show of women involved in a wonderful charity!  “For Pete’s Sake” is an organization that enables cancer patients and their loved ones the opportunity to strengthen, deepen and unify their relationships by creating unforgettable and lasting respite vacations.

These women were so easy to deal with, making the whole experience a true pleasure. Marci Bossow Schankweiler is their fearless leader- I am in awe of her story, the love that she has for the recipients of the trips and her drive to raise funds for an organization which is so near and dear to her heart. You see, Marci lost her husband Pete to cancer and was the recipient of a trip with her family while Pete was in the middle of his treatment. As she describes it, the trip gave them a chance to live again as a normal family, without the cloud of cancer hanging over their heads. The trip was a bright spot in a difficult time, one which gave her and Pete the strength necessary to “cross the finish line”.  Because of this experience, the charity was formed and has been sending cancer patients and their families on vacations ever since.

To all who read my blog- today’s post is a special one… Please take the time to find out more and inquire about this charity that does so much at and if at all possible, make a donation of any kind. I believe that this organization does a whole lot of good for those who need some light in their life and would love to see them benefit as much as possible.  Many thanks!
